The Middle Ordovician Dapingian GSSP at Huanghuchang near Yichang. The uppermost Ordovician Hirnantian GSSP at Wangjiawan (42km to Yichang).
Maoping area of Zigui (eastern Yangtze Gorges area): The Ediacaran (typical Sinian) succession, including the sequence of the Doushantuo Formation, its lowest boundary between the cap dolomite and the underlying Late Cryogenian Nantuo glacial diamictite, and the sequences of the Doushantuo Formation and its upper boundary with the Dengying Fm. Costs: USD $250, including an excursion guidebook, 2 breakfasts, 3 lunches, 2 dinners, 2 night hotel accommodation (sharing a double room, for single room add USD $25 per night), bus (shuttle) tickets between Wuhan and Yichang/Maoping of Zigui and the costs for visiting the Three Gorges Dams.

Remarks: Trip begins and ends in Wuhan .
June 1 st : 8:00-12:30 bus from Wuhan to Yichang (lunch at Yichang); 13:30-17:30 to examine the GSSPs for the Dapingian and Hirnantian GSSP; Dinner at Yichang and stay overnight at Yichang.
June 2 nd : 7:00 breakfast at Yichang; 8:00-17:00 bus from Yichang to Maoping of Zigui to visit the Ediacaran (Sinian) sections separately exposed along the Shibanxi–Wuhe–Huangniuyan and the Jiulongwan roadsides in Sandouping area of Maoping. Lunch at field and stay overnight at Maoping
June 3 rd :7:00 breakfast at Maoping; 8:00-10:00 bus from Maoping to Three Gorges Dams and visiting the high Dams; 10:00-11:00 bus from Three Gorges Dams to Yichang and visiting the museum at Yichang Institute of Geology and Minerals Resources of the Ministry of Land and Resources; Lunch at Yichang. 13:30-18:00 bus from Yichang to Wuhan. End the field excursion finally at about 18:00 pm.
